Bye bye Cleopatra :'(

Legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor, star of National Velvet, Cleopatra and Cat On Hot Tin Roof died last week at the age of 79 because of a congestive heart failure…

Beginning as a child star then throughout her adulthood, she was known for her acting talent, glamour, beauty, and striking violet eyes. Her much publicized private life included eight marriages, several life-threatening illnesses, and decades spent as a social activist, championing the cause of AIDS awareness, research and cure. Taylor, a two-time winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress, is considered one of the great screen actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

This is a tribute by Paul Newman…

Au revoir

p.s. I would have surely chosen Natalie Portman this week because of the ugly row about the Oscar she won a month ago for her role as a troubled ballet dancer in Black Swan. Sarah Lane, a 27-year-old ballerina from the American Ballet Theatre, says she did much more than simply serve as Portman’s ‘body double’ for some of the trickier dance moves in the film. Rather, she did almost all the dancing!

Some other time may be…
